We asked the Waikato District Council about the work being carried out on the pontoon at Raglan Wharf.
A spokesperson for the Council said:
“The work completed at the wharf is for safety reasons – we replaced one broken pile which secures the floating pontoon; the other two were badly damaged. The pontoon itself has been repaired, new securing collars have been installed minor damage to the underside of the pontoon has been repaired , this work was undertaken by Bellingham Marine who originally designed and built the pontoon. The three mooring piles by the boat ramp have also been replaced.
This work is planned to be completed by the end Monday, 22 June.”
