Word Cafe 2015 off to a good start

Over 150 people packed the Raglan Town Hall on Friday evening (14th August) for the opening of the 2015 Word Cafe Readers & Writers Festival. After a karakia by Kaumatua Paddy Kaa, the evening got underway with MC Jane Rushton keeping things moving along smoothly. The Town Hall was decorated with a lounge style area for the presenters and other zones around the perimeter. 

First up was Katerina Mataira reading from one of her mother’s stories. After a break and some mulled wine,  Kani Te Manukura, André Ngāpō, and Michael Moore reading poems and stories.

Word Cafe gets underway again at 9.30am on Saturday morning in the Raglan Town Hall.
