Wooden rail for flying cars

In mid-May, Raglanites asked the Waikato District Council to make safety improvements at the flying car corner. When no action was taken a local resident installed a large left arrow sign outside 25 Bay View.

In early June a team of council experts visited the site looking at the intersection of Bay View and Cambrae Roads. They sprayed marker paint on the road verge.

White wooden rail installed on Bay View Road corner

On Saturday the 12th June, council contractors arrived onsite. They installed a wooden rail on the corner of Bay View Road. Repair work was also done on the retaining wall damaged by the flying car on the 12th June. This was completed on the 15th June. Let’s hope that the rail provides a visual barrier that deters the flying cars.
