Whāingaroa starts 2022 with 83% fully vaccinated

With a small increase in Covid vaccinations during the week, Whāingaroa has moved the fully vaccinated level up from 82.8% to 83.4%. And with 16 people having their first dot, that percent has moved up to 87%. During the week, a mobile vaccination team has been working in Raglan’s Papahua Domain.

Vaccination numbers released on Wednesday (5/1) show that Whāingaroa continues with its slow vaccination progress. The uptake of Covid vaccination for Raglan is up 7 to 2623 first dose, Around Raglan up 5 to 1987 first dose and Te Akau flat on 1242 placing it just over the 90% milestone. Second dose vaccinations are even lower with Raglan on 2522 2nd dose (83%), Around Raglan on 1912 2nd dose (82%) and Te Akau 1205 putting it on 88%.

To achieve the 90% vaccination milestone, Whāingaroa needs another 450 people to have their second dose.

Covid Vaccinations are available over the holiday period at Papahua Domain, in the reserve just across Marine Parade from Jo’s Takeaways (61 Marine Parade). Open from Jan 2 to 7, 9am to 1.30pm. 1st, 2nd and booster available.

Testing and vaccination is available at Raglan Medical (Closed Public Holidays). Monday to Friday by making an appointment on (07) 825 0114.

There are three cases in the Waikato today Wednesday 5th January and all are linked. Two of the cases are in Te Kuiti and one is in Hamilton.

Public Health staff, primary care and manaaki providers in the region are supporting 51 cases to isolate at home.
