The Government announced today that all parts of the country will move to the Covid traffic light framework in December with low vaccination areas moving straight to the red traffic light setting. Vaccination numbers released today (17/11) show that Whāingaroa has a low uptake with Raglan on 82% first dose, Around Raglan on 81% first dose and Te Akau higher on 87%. Second dose vaccinations are even lower with Raglan on 71% 2nd dose, Around Raglan on 70% 2nd dose and Te Akau on 76%.
These vaccination rates are a lot lower than the Waikato District as a whole on 87/77 and Hamilton City on 92/83.
Progress in Whāingaroa continues to be steady with 63 having had their first jab over the last week. This slow progress means we need another 477 from Whāingaroa (Raglan, Around Raglan and Te Akau) to have their first jab to start on the way so the target of 90% is exceeded. For the 2nd jab another 1246 people need to have one to get to 90%.
