Whāingaroa has 2995 booster vaxxed ready for Omicron – Active Covid cases now at 140

Raglan Town Covid vaccination progress

Data released by Waikato DHB on 2nd March shows further progress has been made with Whāingaroa residents receiving the covid booster vaccination. Sixty Five percent of the population have now had a booster. Double vaxxed progress is flat at 87%. There are still 18% of the local 12+ population who have not had their first dot.

Good progress is continuing with vaccinating the 5 to 11 year age group. First dots completed are; Raglan 36%, Around Raglan 39% and Te Akau 41%.

There were 2076 new cases of Covid in the Waikato on Wednesday 2nd March with 46 of these in Raglan Whāingaroa. The total number of cases in this Waikato outbreak is now 12352 (9189 active and 3163 recovered) with 140 cases in Raglan Whāingaroa. Please see image for other locations.

Waikato DHB says that the total number of cases reported are expected to be lower than actual cases in the community as we have transitioned to the Phase 3 response. They will continue to assess current data to ensure it is meaningful.

Raglan Rapid Antigen Testing (RATs) Community Collection Site operated by Waikato DHB is at Raglan Rugby Sports Club, Cross St, Raglan. It is open all of this week Mon 28 – Sun 6 from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM.

If you are wanting a Covid -19 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) you can now book online or you can call an 0800 number.

Two ways are available to request RATs:

  1. Via the new website: requestrats.covid19.health.nz
  2. Via a free call at 0800 222 478 option 3

RATS are free under the public health response for those who need a test – household contacts and people with symptoms.

The online process is straight forward, once you have completed it you will be text confirmation of your RAT order and given a number, which you will need to take with you for pick up. RATs can be requested on behalf of someone else. The 0800 number is to a call centre which is open from 0800 – 5pm Monday Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Wednesday 0900 – 5pm. It is not operational on weekends. If you don’t have a pre order and you are going to the DHB pop tomorrow 0930 – 1130 at the rugby club, they will need your name and date of birth to put into the system. If you know your NHI number have that ready. If you are going to the pop up at the rugby club or further away, take water and some snacks, especially if you have kaumatua or little ones in the car.

Testing by appointment is available from Raglan Medical Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
and Raglan Pharmacy Monday to Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

There were 1966 vaccinations given in Waikato yesterday.

There are 25 COVID-19 positive individuals receiving care at Waikato DHB hospitals – this is a mix of patients who are receiving care for COVID-19 and those receiving care for an unrelated condition who have also tested positive.
