Weekend of Raglan Arts underway

Visitors study ceramic pieces at Fired Up Fantasy opening

On Friday evening, Brigid Allan’s portrait painting exhibition, Skin Deep, kicked off a weekend of arts in Raglan with an opening at the Blacksand Cafe in Bow Street.  Next on Saturday morning, the Fired Up Fantasy exhibition by ceramic artists from the Mountain Dreaming Workshop had a coffee and croissant opening at the Old School Arts Centre Gallery in Stewart Street.

Meanwhile in the Raglan Town Hall in Bow Street, the rehearsal for Raglan ArtoWear was underway.   Entrants streamed in from all directions into the Town Hall including a large group of children from Raglan Daycare who had got changed into their entries at the Daycare.

  • Skin Deep exhibition at Blacksand Cafe, Bow St, Raglan. Daily until 13th July.
  • Fired Up Fantasy at Raglan Old School Arts Centre, Bow St, Raglan.  Daily until 11th June, 10am to 4pm.
  • Stuff You Can Wear at Combined Artists’ Studio, Bankart St, Raglan.  Daily until 18th June,  Mon-Fri 9-3pm, Sat 11-1pm &3-5pm, Sun 11-1pm.
  • Straight Outta Rag-Town at Matapihi Gallery, Bow St, Raglan.  Raglan Area School Year 9 Art presents the Straight Outta Rag-Town exhibition.   Daily until 9th June, when the flags are out.
  • Raglan ArtoWear show at Raglan Town Hall, Bow St, Raglan.  (Both shows SOLD OUT)
