WANTED!!! Aspiring young Raglan Artists – reward $1,000
The raglan Community Arts Council has called for applicaations for its 2012 Scholarship for aspiring young artists from Raglan Whaingaroa. The 2011 Scholarship was awarded to Alanah Bruce who is now studying in Wellington.

History or background of award
The Raglan Community Arts Council has much pleasure in announcing their third scholarship of $1000 to be awarded to a person resident in the Whaingaroa region who intends to go on to tertiary study or who is currently in a study course at tertiary level. This scholarship is open to students aged 16 – 20. The scholarship has been made possible through the generosity of those involved with the successful Raglan Festival of Arts held in recent years.
1 The award is to encourage and assist students undertaking tertiary study in the arts.
2 The scholarship may be awarded for any of the following arts, but not limited to:
Design Multi-media Raranga Ceramic Art
Photography Graphic arts Painting Whakairo
Moving image Music Dance Drama
Textiles
3 The Raglan Community Arts Council will award one Art Scholarship for the amount of $1,000.00. The scholarship can be held for one year only.
4 In awarding the scholarship the Raglan Community Arts Council will take into account the commitment of the individual, the potential benefits to the individual from the study as well as the potential benefits to the community.
5 The applicant, or if a dependent, the applicant’s parent/s or caregiver/s must currently reside in the area administered by the Raglan Whaingaroa area.
6 Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed
7 As a condition of accepting the scholarship, the recipient is required to participate in the next Raglan Festival of Arts.
8 Closing date for applications 4.00pm, Monday 12th December 2011
9 Shortlisted applicants will be notified to attend an interview
