After closing Raglanite’s access to the main library in Hamilton, Waikato District Council is moving on to its next closure.
This time it is Wainui Road that is being closed. Residents recently received a letter from Council contractor, ‘Connell- Right People, Right Result’, advising that Wainui Road will be closed from Monday 20th August to Friday 26th October.
The letter advised that Wainui Road will be closed between Bankart Street and Stewart Street. While the road is closed a storm water drain will be installed.
A detour will be in place via Bankart Street, Bow Street, Gilmour Street and Stewart Street. This major detour will increase traffic on Gilmour Street – a narrow county town road.
The letter goes on to say that Wainui Road may open earlier.
