Value makes way for Choice

The first sign of the change was the logo on the Raglan SuperValue’s EFTPOS terminals changing to Fresh Choice. The next sign was the peak season cashier stations being removed and replaced with self-service stations.

Raglan’s first supermarket started life as a Four Square run by the Petchell family. On 26th July 2012 it transformed into a SuperValue. And now in a third transformation it will soon become a Fresh Choice.

Woolworths New Zealand Ltd operates three types of supermarkets, SuperValue, Fresh Choice and Woolworths. SuperValue are smaller community stores and Woolworths are full size supermarkets. Fresh Choice is a mid-size supermarket with a slogan of ‘where fresh meets local’.
