Tuesday 10 April 2018: WEL Networks – Storm Safety Notice

WEL Networks news

In view of current storm warnings WEL urges residents to stay away from any downed power lines and not to remove vegetation or objects caught in lines.

Residents can limit the chance of flying objects striking power lines and causing damage by tying down backyard gear, for example trampolines and outdoor furniture.

WEL Networks crews are prepared to respond to any damage caused by the storm.

Staff members are closely monitoring weather updates which predict high winds and heavy rainfall well into the early parts of tomorrow morning (Wednesday 11 April).

As staff members are working in challenging situations WEL urges residents to remain patient as repairs are made. However, as high winds pose a threat to field staff they have been advised to make sites safe and return at a later time to complete repairs.

“We apologise for the inconvenience this might cause for our residents but the safety of staff will be highest priority at all times.”

All faults are currently being responded to but if you have any concerns regarding the electricity network please call WEL Networks on 0800 800 935.
