On Sunday afternoon (27th Dec) a 15-year-old teenager from Ohaupo was flown to Waikato Hospital for evaluation and treatment. He had sustained head, neck and back injuries after falling from a motorbike while participating in an organised trail-riding event on a farm in Ohautira Road, north east of Raglan on the road to Waingaro.
Emergency services were called to the motorbike crash. The teenager was then flown in the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter. The crash happened in an extremely remote area with limited vehicle access.
