The overnight storm surge coupled with Monday morning’s high tide at 6am has caused some flooding around Raglan. Although the red-alert period in late April for very high tides is past,  this morning’s tide was still high at just under three metres.  This together with 20mm of rain in the last 24 hours has caused flooding in coastal areas around Raglan.

Lorenzen Bay residents woke this morning to find water flooding across the seawall with the Lorenzen Bay picnic area under water along with the end of Lorenzen Bay road. By 9am the flood waters had started to recede.

Care needs to be taken especially at high tide tonight (Monday 6th) around 6pm.
