St Peters Church overflows

Joan Masters tells a Christmas donkey story for the children assisted by a live donkey

Kai and carols on Friday 16th at St Peter’s Anglican Church saw music and people overflowing from the church.   The promise of sizzling music started with the Mighty River Harmony Mens Choir.   After some traditional carols from Mighty River Harmony  and then more carols from Sean Ellison and his singers,  the audience moved out the front door of the church and up the Bow St side for a well organised sausage sizzle that just kept up with the large number of people.  Then it was through the vestry for a cuppa and out the other door for some sweet treats.  The fruit skewers were a yummy favourite for many.   Then it was back in the front door of the Church for some more music.

Mighty River Harmony started with some of their barbershop numbers  and were followed with some waiata by Sean Ellison and his singers accompanied on guitar by Dave Maybee.   Then a donkey came into the church attracted by a good feed of hay while Joan Masters read a story about the donkey to the children.   And after that it was time for the audience and the choirs to sing some more carols.
