Spring is always the time when new businesses open in Raglan ready well before the holiday influx of visitors. At 2 Bow Street, the former the Bow St Depot at 2 Bow St Raglan, former site of Bow St Depot and before that Costa’s Pizzeria, the finishing touches are being added for the opening of George’s Beach Club. Gazebos have gone up along with a Good George Beer sign, artificial grass has been laid and an airbrushed beach mural provides a backdrop. A wood fired pizza oven is waiting to be installed. Should be a popular place.

Lifted Raglan at 12 Bow St

Just up the street at number 12, the former site of hair salons Mousey Brown and Essence, a pilates studio has opened. Lifted Raglan is a health and fitness studio specialising in Reformer Pilates. It also has a range of healthy and tasty Smoothies and Acai Bowls. Phone: 027 593 8404.

The new Raglan Roast cafe on the Wainui & Bow corner

Across the street at number 17 on the Wainui Road corner, the former site of  Blacksands cafe, a Raglan Roast cafe opened on Wednesday 14th. In addition to the top coffee that goes with the Raglan Roast brand, there is gelato and other tasty food.
