The Raglan Old School Arts Centre’s Spirit of Christmas Exhibition and Art Sale opened last night on Friday 29th November. It will be open daily at the Arts Centre at 5 Stewart Street, Raglan until Sunday 8 December.
This year, the exhibition organisers are teaming up with Raglan Volunteer Coastguard to raise money for a much-needed new boat. Quite by accident, Clay Shed members Susanne Giessen-Prinz and Avril Hawkens realised they had the perfect local non-profit to support. “Avril is Coastguard president Wally’s wife and she explained the crew were working hard on a campaign to raise money to replace the aging Gallagher Rescue Boat,” Susanne says.
To support the Coastguard, shoppers can purchase a handmade boat or life buoy decoration. “We encourage people to support this worthwhile fundraiser and while they are here, they can grab some other Christmas decorations and gifts, or buy a ticket in our Christmas raffle,” Susanne says.
