Sep 25: Community meeting with Regional Council about ineffective rate

Raglanders question lack of environmental benefits in coastal Waikato catchments from big rate take

Concerns raised by a group of Raglanders about the limited benefit coming from the Waikato Regional Council’s West Coast zone targeted rate, have resulted in a community meeting so councillors can hear concerns. Raglanders are wondering what has happened to the big rate take.

The meeting will be held at 2pm on Friday 25 September, in the Sunset Motel on Bankart St, with Whaingaroa Harbour Care, Waikato Regional Council, their West Coast Zone committee and anyone else who wishes to come. It is specifically to discuss the issues raised about this targeted rate that all Raglan property owners pay. It is expected that Councillors Husband, Stark, Buckley and Mahuta will be at the meeting.
