Just a few months after a rogue transformer caused a low voltage brown out condition, Raglanders in the Bayview Road ares suffered again this morning from 8.30am. House lights went dim and some electrical appliances refused to work. We measured the supply voltage at 150 volts, 35% lower than the standard 230 volts.
WEL Networks said they were aware of the problem and that a repair team was on the way. Normal service was restored at 11.30am. We’ve heard of one computer damaged by the fault.
Perhaps the time has come for WEL to fix up their aging plant so this doesn’t recur.
