Record floats and crowd

Raglan Lions Club, organisers of the annual Raglan New Year’s Eve Parade were very pleased with the huge number of floats and the record crowd at last nights parade. It is estimated that about 3,000 people turned out to watch the parade. The large number of floats made the twice round the median strip a bit difficult to achieve, with the Te Awamutu Pipe Band at the front of the parade bumping into the end of the parade. First prize for the best float went to the 1930s Party Girls float, entered in support of Motor Neurone disease.
