Local builder David Shilton is moving rapidly on the extension currently being built at the back of the Raglan Old School Arts Centre in Stewart Street, Raglan. The roof went on in early July and weatherboards are going on this week. The new building includes a kitchen, a storage area and the St Lazarus Studio which will be used for classes in painting, print making, and raranga.
After the new kitchen is operational, the old kitchen in the entrance will be removed and this area renovated to provide a reception area for the Arts Centre. The Arts Council is now planning an official opening for the new building.
