On Wednesday 20th June, Raglan Ramblers are heading back to the Paritata Peninsula (Please bring your lunch and boat fare). The best views of the harbour are from its centre and can be experienced on this 10km walk at the end of the peninsula. You will also get to have a look at the remains of an old minesweeper as well as the isthmus where only 50m separates the arms of the harbour.
All walks start 9am Wednesdays from Wainui Rd car park (next to Raglan Fire Station). There is no membership – the only cost is 10 cents per km to share travel costs. Details from John 825 7866. Check out Raglan Ramblers on Facebook
Hello. I have heard all about you, mainly from my late cousin Jenny Francis.
I live in Papakura so it is a long way to join your expeditions but I also have a family history interest in the Paritata Peninsula – its first lease was held by members of the Bruce side of my family.
So if you decide to ramble over Paritata again I would make a special effort join you.
Thank you.
