Raglan woman receives award from Royal Schools of Church Music

Virginia is presented with her award
in the Waikato Cathedral of St Peter
by Dean Phil Wilson.

Raglanite Virginia Gallagher was given a Certificate of Special Service from The Royal Schools of Church Music on Sunday 20th. The Royal Schools of Church Music is the UK body that supports music in churches around the world.

The awards are usually presented in the UK at Salisbury Cathedral. As Virginia couldn’t make it there her one was presented in the Waikato Cathedral of St Peter by Dean Phil Wilson. She was nominated for the award by Waikato University’s Dr Rachael Griffiths-Hughes. The award was given for her financial support work over several years for the organisation. In Raglan she does similar work for the Raglan Community Arts Council and other organisations.
