And don’t forget we have additional screenings for the 7th, 8th, 10th and 14th April – book a seat with us at the Old School you won’t want to miss this one while it’s in Raglan town!”

Rodger Gallagher, Chair of the Arts Centre committee thanked all who made the premiere a success and the Raglan Community for its support of the event with Facebook, Instagram posts and tweets on twitter. The Raglan Arts Centre will be planning the details of the event for the Raglan community this morning and ASAP will let the town know what’s happening, who’s coming and where to be on Sunday afternoon via FB, web, email and Raglan Radio.

Madman Entertainment, who organised the competition said on Facebook:

COMPETITION ANNOUNCEMENT TIME!

It was so awesome and humbling to see all the effort that cinemas across NZ went to for their very own Hunt for the Wilderpeople premieres last night!

We’re happy to announce that the rural cinema winner is Raglan Community Cinema! You guys have been working so hard for so long on your event and it really showed! Loved the kune kune, loved the community spirit.

The urban cinema winner is Roxy Cinema Miramar. Wish we’d thought of having a stubby competition – bet Taika looks killer in short shorts.

Our runner ups are Regent Hokitika, NBS Westport and Matakana Cinemas for holding what looked like awesome events. You guys party hard. We might just have a little surprise in store for you too.

Honorable mention to The Embassy, State Cinema 6 in Nelson and Toptown Blenheim for throwing some sweet as parties as well.
