Waikato District Council says that construction of the new pontoon and gangway for the Whaingaroa Wharf Project was made fabricated off site and has now been delivered to the wharf.
To ensure the safe and efficient delivery of the pontoon, the boat ramp is in use for the crane. This is causing up to a 10-minute delay in launching and retrieving your boats in or out of the water as the crane has had to move out of the way.
Parts of the old gangway and pontoon were removed on Monday 27th. The plan is to install the new wide gangway and pontoon on Tuesday 28th March.
