Raglan Neighbourhood Support Report February 23 2017

Raglan Police have been kept very busy with a spate of rural burglaries. Property owners have not helped themselves when they have left their property insecure. Whether it is a vehicle, residence, farm shed, garage, milking shed, refrigerators, and freezers, remember to lock it up.

Sadly, we do not live in a society where all people respect others. There are those in communities who feel that they are due what others have worked hard for without any sense of shame at all. There has also been an on – going problem with thefts from cars, shop theft, –   including thefts from Four Square, Super-Value and Soul Shoes. Thankfully there are more and more CCTV rural, home, business and street security systems being installed,  but we all need to be aware and keep our eyes open and report anything suspicious in our community to Raglan Police 078258200

There has been several incidents,  and a continuing problem with speed, dangerous, and poor driving on Shw23.  Drink driving incidences have increased. Lack of registrations and warrant of fitness could mean that all that are driving any vehicles on the road are in danger of being maimed or killed if any vehicles are faulty and are in an accident. Both are registration and warrants are  a safety necessity.

Family Violence.  Reports have lessened lately and hopefully this is due to consultation and an understanding that if anyone in a family gets upset to step back, go for a walk and take some time to look at the matter from another perspective.  If you need urgent assistance dial 111, otherwise  you can access help at http://areyouok.org.nz/,   http://www.cyf.govt.nz/about-us/contact-us/ ,l The Raglan House  07  8258142.   Or .0800 543 354 Lifeline New Zealand Hours: 24 hours, 7 days a week Languages: English Website: www.lifeline.co.nz
