Raglan Museum to stay shut

At today’s meeting of the Raglan Museum Society, it was resolved to keep the Museum shut until security has been improved.  On ANZAC day, a WWII German Battle flag was stolen from the Museum. It had been loaned especially for the Museum’s exhibition, Raglan and the ANZACs by Wyonne Wright, whose husband had captured it during WWII.  The Society decided to look at installing a CCTV system and alternative more secure display approaches.   When these approaches have been investigated and implemented, the Museum will reopen.

Museum President, Pat Day, advised that he had been approached by a local business person who was prepared to consider sponsoring a CCTV system for the Museum.  He said the system needs to be suitable for relocating into the proposed new museum.
