Raglan Lions are planting trees

Raglan Lions plant treesAfter attending a recent Lions Zone Meeting, the Lions of Raglan took up the District Governor’s “the challenge” to plant trees up and down New Zealand. International Lions President, Wing Kun Tam from Hong Kong has set one goal for the upcoming Lions year of having one million trees planted around the world.

Raglan Lions has a responded to the challenge with a goal to plant one tree for every resident in Raglan. That’s 3,000 trees for one small dedicated club that serves its community. The first 13 Raglan trees were planted on the 10th August with 28 more Puriri trees going in last weekend in the Upper Wainui Reserve assisted by Moto and Roy from Whaingaroa Harbourcare . Now Raglan Lions only have 2961 to go!
