We need your help turning our house into a home!

With the refurbishment progressing well on the Raglan Library, Waikato District Council is inviting ideas from the community on how they would like the new space to look.

General Manager Customer Support Sue Duignan said it was a special opportunity for library users to have input into the interior look of the building, which is for them to use and enjoy.

“We are welcoming ideas on artwork and decoration, seating, layout and special points of interest.”

Ms Duignan said the project was part of the Raglan place making initiative, and a committee would begin planning this week.

“The input from the community will help steer the project, which is aimed at marrying the Waikato District Council brand with something that is uniquely Raglan.”

People are asked to share their ideas via the Waikato District Council Facebook page: www.facebook.com/WaikatoDistrictCouncil, by email: Merren.Tait@waidc.govt.nz or in person at the temporary library at 39 Bow Street where they can write their ideas on the shop window with a special pen or pop them in a submission box.

Meanwhile construction on the building is progressing well, with 80 per cent of the new roof now in place.

Work began on the building in March and the project is on track to be completed in early July 2014.

The renovations are a result of the need to address a leaking roof and create more floor space.
