The Raglan Film Festival got off to a good start for its first weekend starting with a screening of the first of the RAFFA nominees on Friday evening including RED, WHITE, BLACK and BLUE. That film’s Director James Brown came along to introduce the film. Also the Melville High rugby team, who feature in the film playing a match in Raglan come along for a great night with Raglan folk.

Bookings were very heavy for GARDENING WITH SOUL and this was confirmed as a favourite by the people who came along to enjoy it. GARDENING WITH SOUL screens again on Friday 20th at 4.30pm.
Other movies screening in the coming week include Arctic Son, a documentary which shares the candid, inspiring story of one family’s life in the remote wilderness of Alaska. (Thursday 19 September, 4.30pm.) And you’ll get a first-hand glimpse of the world’s waste problem with actor Jeremy Irons in Trashed. This documentary sees Irons travel the world to discover the extent and effects of our ever-growing rubbish mountain. (Thursday 19 September, 8pm.) Be moved by the tale of Hannah and Tomasz, who find love in a German concentration camp only to lose each other amidst the chaos of the last days of war. Remembrance is a love story set against the backdrop of the darkest of times. (Friday 20 September 8pm.)
The Film Festival concludes with the gala red carpet Raglan Arts Film Festival Awards on the evening of Saturday 21st.
