The work of Waikato District Council over the past year, its performance and financial picture are now available in its just published annual report for 2012-13.

The report “Our Journey so Far”, shares progress on the first year of the Council’s 2012-22 Long Term Plan.

It is being shared with communities across the district in roadshow presentations, the first of which get underway this week. The district’s newly elected community boards and business community in Tuakau will kick off the presentations on the annual report at their November meetings, with the public welcome to attend.

Council staff will also use this opportunity to talk to the district’s communities on what their priorities are for the annual plan for the 2014-15 year.

The annual report is available online on Council’s website and in hard copy at Council’s eight libraries and offices, and has also been sent to all residents in summary form in the Council’s recently delivered resident newsletter Link.

Tony Whittaker, General Manager Strategy and Support wants the community to understand what Council has been up to.

“We’re keen for residents in our district to understand the work which has been done over the past year compared to what we said we would do. Our annual report roadshow, summary in the Link resident newsletter and making the document available online and in all our libraries and offices are the suite of approaches we use to share progress against the vision which has been set.”

The first of the annual report roadshow presentations will be to the following community board meetings:

·         Onewhero-Tuakau Community Board: Wednesday 6 November @ 9.30am, Tuakau Memorial Hall

·         Taupiri Community Board: Monday 11 November @ 6.30pm, Memorial Hall

·         Raglan Community Board: Tuesday 12 November @ 3pm, Town Hall Supper Room

·         Ngaruawahia Community Board: Tuesday 12 November @ 6pm, Ngaruawahia Council Chambers

·         Huntly Community Board: Tuesday 19 November @ 6pm, Riverside Room

The public is warmly invited to attend any of these meetings.
