Raglan Community Board meeting coming up on Tuesday 13th Nov

Summary below of Raglan Community Board agenda provided by John Lawson of Whaingaroa Enviromental Defence Inc.  The amount listed below of $2,000 for the RSA grant request is listed incorrectly in the Council paper. The actual amount requested is $1380.  This has since been reduced to $380 as the RSA has received a grant from another funder.

The next Raglan Community Board meeting is Tuesday 13 November at 3pm in the Town Hall Supper Room. The public forum starts at 2.30pm, giving an opportunity to discuss issues, but you can also email the Community Board members who are:-

  1. Bus $9,900 paid for bus shelter for Raglan West [the Norrie Ave shelter cost $5,000] – waiting for new road design. Apart from a note of letters sent and received, no mention is made that fares rise 5% in January, a temporary $10 mini-bus leaves each Sunday (10am and 4pm from Raglan iSite and Library and returns at 11.15am and 5.15pm – book with iSite) and a bigger bus will run Sunday and public holidays after Christmas until Waitangi Day, but not allowing a day trip from Raglan.
  2. Annual Plan Board to look at priorities in December.
  3. Disabled parking space in Wi Neera St outside library proposed.
  4. Whale Bay sewage design to be completed in November.
  5. Water meters work almost complete has cost $252,270. Tender to install meters being prepared – $400,000 budgeted. Water treatment plant upgrade planned for summer. Greenslade & Wainui Rd mains to be laid.
  6. Cross St stormwater to go to tender in November.
  7. Exceloo beside museum cost $193,827.
  8. Earthquake Drill “advice on exercise provided”.
  9. Discretionary funding $8,316 in fund and Community House bus wants $1,500, RSA want $2,000 for archives, Info Centre wants $1,275 replacement for sandwich board signs, Lifeguards want $5,000.
  10. Raglan Office & Library J D Consultants report being reviewed.
  11. Town Hall committee report – request for $25 rate rejected. $31,000 net funds.
  12. Water fountain next to Plunket now working.
  13. Street name – Nikau Park proposed for revived subdivision off Lorenzen Bay Rd.
  14. Coastal Reserves Committee – minutes 10 Sept & 8 Oct and there’s a Supper Room meet for a tour at 4pm Mon 12 Nov.
  15. Holiday Park income up $150,000 in 2012 – surplus $221,096.

Let me know if you think WED should be taking up any other issues, such as the wharf leases, which aren’t on the agenda.
