Raglan Community Board Agenda

The Board agenda is at (http://www.waikatodistrict.govt.nz/Your-Council/Meetings/Community-boards/Raglan.aspx).
The meeting is on Tuesday 14 June at 3pm in the Town Hall Supper Room. The public forum starts at 2.30pm.

Summary of agenda prepared by Board Member, Linda Cole:

  • Rents of Harbour Board lease land in Wi Neera and Bow St doubled – 4 still being negotiated.
  • Harbour Board accounts. $11,000 still in budget to pay Harbour Care. $150,745 is budgeted for interest on the new footbridge.
  • Raglan Planning Scoping Study to look at growth management.
  • Water Money has been taken from Ngaruawahia’s metering budget to give priority to Raglan. Complaints have been made that water has been cut off more than 3 hours and in the wrong areas.
  • Whale Bay sewage estimated at $2.2m. Will now consult.
  • Wharf repair to be finished August. At least 3 months to design building.
  • To pay for the museum and rugby rooms WDC has tried to sell land since 2005!  The only change this month is that a developer is discussing building on the Long St extension.
  • Museum Exeloo site still not decided.
  • Museum $21,000 over budget, as are Wainui Rd sewer pipe and East St pump.
  • The Raglan West bus shelter (approved August 2009) may be deferred as $30,214 (almost a third of the $95,625 spent on the existing bus service!) may be spent to extend the Te Uku-Hamilton schools bus 8km each way to Raglan to relieve overcrowding. A site visit is planned to look at the bus shelter plans. The report (not on the RCB agenda) says a third bus may be needed next year to cope with overcrowding.
  • CRM reports show that the Raglan office didn’t handle 2 reports of dog attacks, 2 dead animals, a blocked sewer pipe and a report of a fire hazard on time. There were 11 dog attack, 110 water leak and 83 noise reports in 3 months
  • Strada (WDC’s wholly owned works company) may not pay a dividend this year in exchange for giving WDC its Manukau Rd depot.
  • Money to give away – $9,463 of which Te Mauri Tau want $5526 for a copier and fridges and the museum $9000 for display cabinets – the next deadline to apply is 12 August
