Strike action Tuesday 23rd disrupts Hamilton bus passengers
Hamilton bus services will be disrupted on the morning of the 23rd October due to industrial action by bus drivers. All regional services – 20 Cambridge, 21 Northern Connector, 22 Morrinsville/Paeroa, 23 Raglan and 24 Te Awamutu – will operate as normal.
First Union members have given notice to Go Bus Transport that they will strike from 5am until 9am (Tuesday, 22 October). However, the effects of the strike on bus services could continue until about 11am, Waikato Regional Council warns.
The Orbiter will also run as normal. The CBD Shuttle will operate around every 15 minutes and the two 4N Flagstaff North bus services will combine into one service for the duration of the driver strike. There will be a limited service on the following routes: 1 Pukete, 2 Silverdale, 3 Dinsdale, 6 Mahoe, 9 Nawton and 16 Rototuna. Timetables will be online later this afternoon.
At this stage, no other Hamilton bus services will operate during the industrial action.

Waikato Regional Council, which is responsible for managing bus service contracts in the region, urged people to check for updates before they travelled in case there were further changes.
Public transport operations manager Andrew Wilson said service updates would be posted to the BUSIT Facebook page and website.
“Our staff are working closely with Go Bus, looking at the city bus timetables to see if we are able to resource any other services to minimise the inconvenience to our passengers..
“We will provide an update later this afternoon, and passengers are urged to please check individual route information before travelling in the morning. If people have any queries, they are welcome to call us anytime on 0800 205 305,” Mr Wilson said.
