Power back on in Ruapuke

Gales brought down trees around Raglan and the Waikato. On Friday 2nd, at 2pm, the conditions caused an outage in the Ruapuke Road area affecting approximately 35 properties.

Unfortunately the issue occurred just before the bad weather hit meaning WEL Networks crews couldn’t fix the issue on Friday. On their way to Rupauke on Saturday they discovered a pole down with lines on the road and had to fix that first.

Work on the Ruapuke fault had to wait till late Saturday before power could be restored.

WEL Networks said, “Unfortunately efforts to make repairs have been hampered by the bad weather. We appreciate your patience with this matter. If you see a power line down please stay away and call 0800 800935.
Please do not try to repair damaged lines or clear vegetation away yourself. And if there is a fault in your are they’d also appreciate your help in checking your neighbours. “
