Its official, in what must be this year’s biggest leaked secret, NZ Post has finally confirmed that in future, its services in Raglan will be available in the supermarket. This is one of those back to the future moves as in the 19th century, Raglan had a postal counter in a grocery store. We have asked NZ Post whether there will be any private facilities in the supermarket to discuss personal financial issues. As at 29th January there has been no response to our query.
A NZ spokesperson said, “New Zealand Post is pleased to announce that Raglan SuperValue will be hosting postal and banking services in Raglan on behalf of the New Zealand Post Group from 9am on Monday 17 February. Friday 14 February will be the last day at the present location.
“Opening at the new location confirms New Zealand Post‘s ongoing commitment to Raglan. There will be a dedicated counter in the SuperValue for all postal services and day-to-day banking services, such as making deposits and withdrawals and paying bills.
“The move is a result of a New Zealand Post policy to ensure a high level of compliance with the seismic code for the buildings we occupy.”

Normal operating hours will apply – 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
The Box Lobby at the present location will close at 3pm Friday 14 February, and reopen at SuperValue at 9am Saturday 15th February. Box lobby access hours will be 7am – 8pm, 7 days a week.
