“Members of the Waikato Search and Rescue Squad converged on an area around Manu Bay at first light this morning in an effort to locate the man.
“Later on in the day the man’s body was found in bush at the base of Mt Karioi. Initial indications there were no suspicious circumstances in relation to his death and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”
The man has been identified as Raglan plumber and surfer, David Patterson.
Mr Pierce said the man’s death has been referred to the Coroner.
A large funeral was held in the Raglan Town Hall on Thursday 24th November at 11am. It was moved from Wainui Bush Park Reserve due to inclement weather.
