Police and SAR volunteers continue to look for Rick Hayward

Police have scaled back their search for the missing Hamilton man,  Frederick “Rick” Hayward, after four days of looking without success.

Waikato police advised,“Systematic, intensive searching involving police, Land SAR volunteers, a specialist SAR dog team and the police Eagle helicopter has unfortunately failed to find any further sign of him.” 

Police said they would continue to appeal to hunters, walkers and outdoor recreational groups to take note of Hayward’s description and ring the Hamilton police station at 07 858 6200 with any information.

Police and Land SAR volunteers are continuing to search in poor weather for missing Hamilton man Frederick “Rick” HAYWARD.

Police have received a number of possible sightings of a male in his 50’s with grey hair wearing a brown jacket walking along State highway 26 between Hamilton and Morrinsville.

Waikato SAR Co-ordinator Constable Dave PITCHFORD said “We would like to hear from anyone with further information on these sightings to help us confirm that this is Mr HAYWARD or to help eliminate this person from our enquiries.”

Anyone with information on this sighting or possible sightings of Mr Hayward is asked to contact the Waikato Search and Rescue team at Hamilton Central Police Station on 07 858 6200.
