Name release – light plane crash in Raglan
Police are now in a position to name the two people who died in a light plane crash in Raglan on Monday 17 December.
The two men killed were 64-year-old Peter Cree of Marlborough and 33-year-old Louey Sandlant from Tasman.
Police offer their sympathies to their friends and family at this sad time.
Police are continuing to work with the Civil Aviation Authority to identify the cause of the crash.
As part of those inquiries Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen this small yellow aircraft approaching Raglan on the afternoon of the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Rene Rakete from Huntly Police on (07) 828 7560.

Waikato Western Area Commander Inspector Andrew Mortimore of NZ Police said that the bodies of two people who died in a light plane crash in Raglan this afternoon have been recovered from the scene.
The crash occurred off the shoreline at the end of East Street on the Kaitoke mudflats just south east of Raglan township at about 3.20pm. The site is just over one kilometre away from the Raglan airfield.
Police are working to identify the deceased and notify next-of-kin.
A number of witnesses have already been spoken to, and Police will take statements from others in the coming days.
Police say that the Civil Aviation Authority has been notified and that the plane is now in the care of the CAA.
Raglan Emergency Services and locals GPs attended after the crash.
There were no injuries on the ground.
