Parking warden in town for summer Saturday

Parking warden chalks a car tyre in Bow St

A warm summer Saturday drew visitors to Raglan along with the Waikato District Council parking warden. On Saturday morning she was busy doing the rounds chalking tyres and  issuing tickets with her digital device.

While Raglan has no parking meters it does have marked spaces with parking time limits. These were introduced about 10 years ago after retailers asked for parking time limits. At first there was no policing of the time limits, but after a few years a parking warden was appointed. Then every couple of weeks the warden would appear in Raglan on a quiet week day. Now the warden comes on weekends and public holidays so you can expect a ticket if you overstay the designated time.

The parking spaces in Bankart St, at the Fire Station car park and outside the Museum have no time restrictions.
