Sunday 9th December was a very busy day with large numbers of visitors coming to Raglan. The fine weather lured people to the coastal Waikato. With many parking areas disrupted by council enhancement projects, visitors struggled to find somewhere to park. On Tuesday council staff promised Community Board members that the projects would be completed before Christmas. It seems that council staff don’t appreciate that the busy season in Raglan starts in November and that disruptive projects need to be completed before the end of October.
On Sunday with parking areas out of action and traditional parks reduced by the new Wainui Road bus stops, visitors adopted an attitude of parking, ready or not in Stewart Street.
