Packing saves Ruapuke man

Raglan rescue services scrambled this morning when a ute slipped off its jack at Ruapuke south of Raglan. A tyre and a couple of stands underneath the ute caught most of the weight when the ute fell on a 36-year old man’s chest when a jack slipped. After freeing himself from underneath the car the man crawled to his nearby house and phoned emergency services. He was looked after initially by a Raglan doctor and a nurse who is a neighbour.

The Waikato air ambulance was in the air in 6 minutes after receiving the call at 8.30am and took the man to Waikato Hospital.
