Old School is the place for art and film action this weekend

The Raglan Film Festival starts today, Friday 16th at the Raglan Old School Arts Centre in Stewart St, with Hook, Line and Sinker at 4.30pm followed by two music docos at 7.30pm.  The Festival was featured in the Waikato Times new Waipod page.   The music film session features  the band Cornerstone Roots in Cool Summer Tour and then Music is Choice with Trinity Roots.  Other sessions on Arts Centre web site.

And also on this weekend is the Raglan Artist Open Studio weekend.   You can pick up a card with a list of studios open this weekend from the Raglan Information Centre in Wainui Road.  Make sure you also get a copy of the Raglan Art Trail Guide with maps on how to get to the studios.  The artist studios are open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 17th and 18th September.  Several artists without studios will be based at the Raglan Old School Arts Centre in Stewart Street over the weekend.  The Raglan Open Studio Weekend is part of the Real NZ Festival.

And at Mataphi Gallery, 34 Bow St, Raglan, the exhibition, To the beat of a new drum- newly inspired works by Tim Turner is on. Watch for flags outside when open.  Down the Bow St at Blacksand Cafe is an exhibition by Rickie Hill and Karron Campbell. Open cafe hours.
