Old Mountain Road detour leads to Raglan bus drama in the dark and rain

Stuff National News has posted an article about how the Raglan bus driver diverted from SH 23 to a windy rural Waikato road after a fatal crash was so afraid about getting round a narrow bend that he asked passengers to get off, walk round the bend and wait ahead for the bus.

It’s thought that confusion among passengers, some of whom were schoolchildren, saw some hike or hitch-hike many kilometres home on Old Mountain Road in the dark and the rain on Thursday evening.
