Nov 9: Another 52 locals have first Covid jab

Raglan Town on 81% first jab is 9% away from the 90% milestone

Over the past week from 3rd to 9th November, another 52 locals had their first Covid jab. This small step means we need another 532 from Whāingaroa (Raglan, Around Raglan and Te Akau) to have their first jab to start on the way so the target of 90% is exceeded. Once again there has been strong progress for second shots with 275 vaccinated.

To date the percent fully vaccinated is: Raglan 68%, Around Raglan 67% and Te Akau 74%.

This is well below the rest of the Waikato District on 74% and Hamilton on 80% fully vaccinated.

The Delta outbreak is staying away from Raglan Whāingaroa with Waikato DHB showing there are no active cases in Whāingaroa.

There were 14 new cases confirmed in Waikato overnight with 10 from Ōtorohanga, three from Hamilton and one from Ngāruawāhia. One was a known contact already isolating and a further seven have now been linked to previous cases. Public Health officials are today investigating links for the remaining six cases. There are no cases in Waikato Hospital.

Testing and vaccination is also available at Raglan Medical. Monday to Friday by making an appointment on (07) 825 0114.
