Waikato District Council is currently undertaking a review of the Waikato District Plan.
They are working now through Phase 4, which involves the drafting of district plan content.
A full review of the district plan is required in order to deliver a single set of planning provisions for the whole district. As a result of the amalgamation of the Waikato District and southern portion of former Franklin District in November 2010, the Waikato District Plan currently consists of two sections, a Waikato Section and a Franklin Section which we are now bringing together.
The planning staff of the council are holding an open day in the Raglan Town Hall and say they will welcome your feedback at the open day or from late November on their website:
Raglan – Thursday 30 November, 2-7pm, Raglan Town Hall
Once WDC staff have considered the feedback the District Plan will be notified for public submission during the first part of 2018.
The next steps in this process include:
- The public open days in November-December 2017
- Key stakeholder open days
- Consulting with land owners regarding the key parts of the draft plan that will affect them
- Finalising and notifying the draft plan in early 2018.
