Raglan Old School Arts Centre news
Head to the Old School Arts Centre’s Creative Raglan Art Auction on
Saturday 23 November, 6–8pm for the best of the best in local art. All
the work has been donated to the Old School and all funds raised will go
straight back into supporting the arts. Throughout the year the Old School
supports the arts through the Raglan Arts Weekend, Raglan Art to Wear,
Raglan Film Festival, Raglan Creative Market, local exhibitions, clay and
art classes for adults and children, music nights and regular movies. The
centre is also a cost-effective venue hire alternative for all sorts of events,
classes, workshops, and boutique food production.
Centre manager Jacqueline Anderson says the auction is a not-to-missed
opportunity to bid for work by a favourite local artist. “We’ve got an awesome lineup of stunning art to auction off. It’s also an awesome opportunity to refresh your art collection or get a collection started and at the same time show your love for the arts in Raglan.”
Some of Raglan’s best-known artists have supported the auction with pieces donated by Jane Galloway, Marise Rarere, Dr Airbrush, Dominique
Marriott, Hadley Hodgkinson, Claudia Grutke and more. As well as paintings, there is also ceramics by the Monster Company, Sarah Bing and Hope Didsbury, Annick Faubert’s taxidermy art and photography by Jillian
Lankshear, Geraldine Burns, Richard Gemmell and Stuart Mackenzie.
There’s also work by former Ahoy Creative Crew artists Jodi Collins,
Elsa Lye and Gila Cohen, floral art by Raglan Floral Co, and fne drawings
by Vince at Raglan Tattoo and Julian Godfrey. There’s too many to mention
so check it out for yourself at the Old School Monday through to Friday from 10am-2pm until auction day.
