Hi folks, a reminder for anybody going on today’s Raglan Ramblers walk (Wednesday 16th) that although the Chronicle shows a 9am start for the Schnackenberg Bay walk, in fact they’re leaving Raglan at 3pm, to catch the low tide about 6pm. They’ll start by meeting at 951 Waimaori Rd (straight on at the T junction with Matawha Rd).
So, rather than lunch, bring supper. Sheryl (021 100 9097, but sometimes out of range over there) says she has onions, marshmallows and frying pans, which she says can be balanced over a fire made from the plentiful driftwood on the beach. Sheryl suggests you may like to bring potatoes in tin foil, steak (thin), sausage, or bread.
Sunset will be about 8.11 pm and, the day after full moon, the moon will start to rise at 8.46 pm. If the weather forecast is right there should be about 1mm/hr of showers.
If you’ve not been before, you may like to look at Facebook photos taken on previous walks to the Bay, which are here – 2016, 2015 view from Karioi, 2013, 2011.
