Norm is best known for his swans made from old car tyres. He also does pretty good pukekos in various sizes made from motorbike and car tyres. In recent years he has branched out into weaving baskets made from recycled blue and white plastic strip. I spotted Norm yesterday in Raglan’s Bow St, busy weaving more baskets behind his sales table. He told me he’d be there till 9pm.
As well as his various weaving creations he had some Christmas plums and some of his free range eggs. I bought some of them, because I knew they’d be perfect for the green mayonnaise I’ll be making today to go with our slow cooked snapper.

I suspect that Norm has stopped making swans. I’ll check with him the next time I see him.
