A rumour currently doing the rounds of Bow St is that Richard Jacobsen, owner/operator of the Raglan SuperValue, has sold the Raglan SuperValue business.
We asked Mr Jacobsen if there was any truth in the rumour. Richard told us:
Yes I have heard the rumour, these rumours seem to pop up about every three to six months since I bought the store about 12 years ago. Currently I have not sold the business and in fact I am investing a large amount of money upgrading the refrigeration for Produce, butchery and liquor as well as moving the Post shop to a more suitable position.
If someone were to make me an offer then of course I would consider it as I always do when I am approached. Currently there are two people that have approached me in the last month but I am sure they will be as all the other approaches in the past and amount to nothing more than wish full thinking by the potential purchaser. Out of respect I always take the time to talk to them. Perhaps this is where this rumour has started?
If anything eventuates in this area our staff a lot of whom have worked for me for 8 to ten years will be advised first then I would talk to others from there.
So this is just another one of those of those rumors that circulate around Bow Street from time-to-time!
