No action by Busit after a year

Raglan visitors are still confused by the oddly placed arrival bus stop for Raglan.

In 2018, John Lawson raised this with Busit saying, “Last weekend I twice caught the bus on Wallis St and was struck by how puzzled some passengers were to be told that this was the stop for the centre of Raglan. Passengers on the Raglan bus are often unfamiliar with the area, so, more than other buses, drivers get asked for directions, advice, etc.”

“Might it be possible to have a leaflet along these lines for drivers to hand out, or to be available in racks, or at least on websites? Maybe it could have a timetable on the other side? “

One year after raising this with Busit, John Lawson says that every time he gets off the bus at Wallis St, he still sees the same problem. John has again asked them if they are working on a better solution?

While he has been waiting for Busit John has come up with his own guide to the quirkes and mystery of Raglan bus stops which you can download here:

The Guide says, “Coming from Hamilton the main stop for the centre of Raglan is near the end of Wallis St. Many passengers don’t recognise it as a place looking as they expect Raglan to look. But don’t despair, the main shopping street and harbour front are just a minute’s walk away, if you keep going forward. Just don’t expect to find your return bus here. Buses to Hamilton stop in the main street, outside the library and council office.
